UPDATE: Palin the Set-Up for a Stolen Election

Now it all makes sense. She's vastly unqualified, but a woman. This is the set-up for another Florida 2000/Ohio 2004 election steal. The major media line will be 'it was Hillary's people voting for the woman' when the numbers just don't add up. Pure speculation, but does it add up any other way? See http://www.stealingamericathemovie.org/

Yes I was proud to be an American seeing a black man accept a nomination which puts him one election day away from the presidency.  I am keeping my own counsel on who I will be voting for (I feel I can say that now with 27% of Hillary supporters having openly committed DailyKos treason saying they will vote for...not the Democrat.)  But yes, the very fact of Obama standing in those lights told me this is a different country than it was 50 years ago, for once in one of the best ways possible.  Now how about getting back to the business of upholding the law, so he has a fair chance?  A fair chance is all Obama or anyone else running for president in this country deserves, and in case anyone has forgotten the last two elections were clearly stolen.

They were stolen by a right-wing cabal, which does not include all Republicans, which has learned it can get away with breaking the law, up to and including stealing elections, with no consequence.  This cabal has learned it can lie us into war with no consequence, torture innocent foreigners with no consequence, and even torture an American citizen.  It has learned it can spy illegally, make preposterous claims of infinite wartime powers, betray an American intelligence agent, and defy congressional subpoenas.  All with no consequence.  Why not steal another election if the planned smear machine which already has 1 in 10 Americans believing that Obama is a Muslim doesn't deliver?  After 7 years the Democrats STILL haven't fixed it, and the Diebold machinery is still in place.

Obama will get a fair chance, which at this point is all I am supporting,  when the Rove tools who put out "impeachment is the worst thing you could do" are not listened to.  The Republicans say "we would love that, we tar it as a partisan attack!"  They say this loudly, which should make you think. If they really wanted these proceedings so they could make it backfire, would they let the Democrats know this?  Remember what Napoleon said: Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.  If impeachment takes the shine off Bush, they are all finished.  Without it, they can lie and smear their way to power on national security, as always.

When even people like Pat Buchanan, the World News Daily's Devvy Kidd, and Jerome Corsi are saying impeach, when Bush is so toxic to Republicans that Republicans in Arizona had to move a planned fundraiser with Bush-McCain from a hall to a private home for lack of interest, Democrats are missing a marvelous chance to clip the wings of the Rove cabal, but good, and enforce a fair election.

This is not going to get any better for Obama.  In the heartland "NoBama" T-shirts are springing up everywhere, as the right-wing radio which holds it in thrall tar him as a Manchurian Muslim candidate with a secret socialist vision for America.   Even the fairly neutral MSN search page (Microsoft Network) recently ran sidebar bio blurbs of Obama and McCain.  McCain's photo was a standard speaking engagement shot, with the caption "a lifetime of service."  I forget what the Obama caption was, because what jumped out was that he was in colorful traditional garb somewhere in Africa.

Yes, it's aimed at idiots. Here's what sucks: There are lots of them, and they are allowed to vote.

B-b-but they'll say we're doing impeachment for p-politics! That this is a cynical political attack on the our president!

Psst!  Send the Democrats who are worried about that to me, I'll tell them how to respond, and call it shot-for-shot.  Like: "How DARE the most political administration in history, which has even politicized the Justice Department for political prosecutions, imply through its minions that it has a monopoly on virtue and everyone else is driven by politics, rather than a desire to restore our Constitution.  We're glad theywant to talk about who acts out of partisanship. We were going to get to that, when we talk about the Justice department in impeachment hearings."

Judge Bates has just handed the House Judiciary Committee another win, ruling that Harriet Miers must testify.  This is a one-two, overnight impeachment scenario talked about by Elizabeth Holtzmann in the Don't-Call-Them-Impeachment Hearings of July 25th.  Conyers calls Meirs to talk under oath, Bush claims executive privilege, boom.  Impeachment hearing.  It was spurious claims to executive priv that got Nixon impeached in the end, nothing else.  Will Conyers do it?  A good part of the answer probably depends on the people in his party who can see that impeachment is not a mistake, and may be the only thing which can level the playing field away from Rove's Diebold hackers, who are desperate to install McCain so he can shield them from war crimes charges.

Can you articulate why you would still consider voting for McCain, if your still undecided, (that is if your alternative to "Not Obama" is not a third party Candidate)?

I'm genuinely curious.

No, not McCain either, heavens.  I still maintain that the numbers polled by non lesser-of-two evils candidates, are watched by the major parties, and serve as an important signal of displeasure.  I may vote for Obama, but his cave on telcom immunity disappointed me greatly.  Beyond that it is his party I am disgusted with, not him, and I am loathe to buy in to their "just work for Democrats nevermind impeachment and the constitution" worldview.  If the Democrats showed spine, they would have my vote, and I'm sure many of the "NoBama" tee-shirt-wearers as well.  These voters are truly lost in a wilderness.  They dislike McCain (pro-illegal immigration) and they are afraid of Obama (they believe Michael Savage.)  And boy do they hate Bush.  A clean sweep of this administration's lies will be greeted with enthusiasm by all sides, and with that miasma gone we can all start talking again.

I agree whole heartedly that legislatively we should have been stronger, but did you watch The Speech last night?  Obama is bringin' the heat.  He's throwin' chin music.  The strength you and i were looking for was on display last night for over 38 million to see.
